Where has the Summer gone?

I can't believe it is already more than halfway through July! The summer is flying by so quickly. You always start off summer with this "I can relax" attitude. Then you remember that you aren't in 3rd grade and you have stuff to do.

We are getting ready to head home at the end of August to go to a family wedding and visit our own family. And from there, we are headed to Sitges, Spain for a little over a week! It should be a really fulfilling trip seeing as we never take big trips.

So before we go, there is beyond a ton of things to do. Dealing with weddings we are going to, our wedding, applying to school, work for work and just general life stuff. My mind is an entire notebook of lists. I think it is driving Riley a little nuts. Oh wellllllllll!

Wow, it has been so long since I posted that blogspot has changed so much. A good change but still a change.

Speaking of changes, I have changed too! Biggest changes are that I like country music, I started drinking tea and I got engaged!

I have been working a ton. Not kidding at all.

Clean Floor

I recently cleaned my room and was amazed at how much more orderly my life felt. I woke up in the morning and did yoga on the floor. It was so clean I almost wanted to sleep on the floor. I vowed to make a valiant effort to keep it that clean or close to it in order to help with my sanity!

Stressssssss

Sometimes I love when I have so many things to do. It keeps me busy and it keeps my brain on top of life. And other times I absolutely hate that by adding more things to your list, you just get more and more stressed. Your to do list for the day seems totally reasonable and then other things just keep getting added to the list. Then you find yourself with more than a list but 2 days worth of tiny tasks to get accomplished and your mind just goes mush. You almost accomplish nothing instead of accomplishing everything that was on your reasonable to do list.

I have a brain of mush right now. If you couldn't tell!

Happy Easter!

Today is Easter and the weather is amazing in San Diego! I have given up meat and coffee for Lent and I am about to go out to breakfast and only eat those things. I really have not missed meat that much, but in fact have enjoyed not eating it and over all have felt healthier. However, coffee on the other hand has been very difficult not to drink. Yesterday, I had to wait outside of a coffee shop for some friends who went in to get some. The smell was just so overwhelming and tempting, I just could not wait inside. I will probably be off the wall all day!

It's November!

Wow! So it has been the most eventful couple of weeks/months! The entire family came to visit and just left this past week. It was such a great time and we took some excellent pictures. It really makes me miss being near home. Once Tim moves out of SD it will be really weird to have no family here.

Our house has finally come together, we just bought a fire screen which is potentially the final missing piece. It is cold and rainy here. Well cold for San Diego, not actually cold. haha

Home in 48 days!!!

My Buns

We are moving in 9 days! Or at least starting to move our stuff over to the new house. I am looking forward to it. Just need to buy a bed frame and a dresser or something. I had the first big thing for my new job over the weekend and I'm not positive I did quite my best. But things get easier and things get better over time, right? RIGHT? I hope so.
I was home last weekend for Benny's baptism. He cried through most of it but it was a nice ceremony and it was such an honor officially becoming his godmother!

August!

Today all four of us went snorkeling! It was so fun but also hard. We saw leopard sharks, guitar fish and sting rays! Pretty awesome!

We found a new house and are moving in Sept 1. Here are some pictures!


SO that is exciting! I got a new job as well, coaching sports clinics for children with autism. Which is just about to become really busy in the fall.

Musica + Alma + Sexo

Riley and I went to see the Ricky Martin concert last weekend! We got free tickets and couldn't say no! It was really, really good! I truly enjoyed it! He played lots of classics (Shake Your Bon, Bon, etc.) but also his new ones. It was super dancey and fun! Totally worth going!

Shoo Bee!

I am finally feeling better after about 4 days of feeling like crap. I didn't go out all weekend. I basically just laid in bed and ate nothing. I also got stung by a bee and while I was not really worried about it, it is still red and itchy so that is strange. It has been about a week and a 1/2.

Riley and I are thinking about just hopping in the car this weekend and driving and wherever we end up, we end up! And I am super excited! Roadtrippppp!

So happy that today is Friday! Although I did just learn that because of my unfortunate little fender bender, my insurance went up to the mooon and won't be coming down for 3 years! SCREW YOU CALIFORNIA INSURANCE PRICES! I think I'm going to see if other companies will give me a cheaper deal. Gonna go get some quotes!

I think we are going to climb Iron Mountain tomorrow! Woooo!

Cinco De Mayo

Today is Cinco De Mayo! Cannot wait to enjoy a beautiful margarita at the end of the day! I have my longest work day today, yet I still have time to update my blog. So not really that tough! I also just had the most delicious glass of apple juice. It was so refreshing. The weather has been in the 90s for the past few days and today is a little bit cooler. It smells like the perfect summer day out.

Priya just came to visit last week and it was magnificent! I wish that we lived in the same place! We tried a bunch of places that I have never been before and it was totally great!

I watched Black Swan last night. I'm not sure that I totally liked it! I was more confused at the end then done with the movie.

I have been able to accomplish some of my goals from my 110 Things to do List and that is exciting. Perhaps my next entry I will fill you in on what those are! Ha!!

Can't wait to go home in a few months!

Mountains

I climbed a mountain this past week! It was excellent and it felt amazing to reach the top. I love it when exercising is fun and exciting. It makes it that much better!

Puerto Rico!

We are leaving for Puerto Rico tomorrow! I still have quite a bit to accomplish before our flight. Hopefully I will get everything done!

The past few weeks have been super busy. We had a Bachelor party for my brother and then Jules came to visit for a week. Which was excellent!

Riley and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. We decided not to get big gifts for each other and then he surprised me with a sunrise hot air balloon ride! Sneaky Sneaky.

This past weekend we took an intro to scuba diving class. We got to learn how to use the equipment and played with our buoyancy!

Thursday is St. Patty's Day and the tournament starts!

Money Money Money

I have begun to realize that I do not have enough money for bills and life. I want to eat super healthy when I can, but that involves more money than I can think about. I am stuck in that pasta phase while I wait for money to accrue in my account. I have to start paying my college loans and well that puts a big dent into every paycheck I get. Grownup life is stressful.

I just ate an entire carton of blueberries. I have been drinking way too much lately. This morning Riley and I got up really early and went walking at the beach. An athletic like walk. It is so nice to start the day at the beach. It is beautiful and there is no one there.


I am finally learning how to play and I do keep a small cheat sheet right next to me of the order of winning hands! I don't care how lame that is. I will beat everyone!

Hello there world! I have not blogged in about two months. Which is a little ridiculous. I have much to update. First of all, my job is going well. Although kind of sad that I have no co-workers. My work days get rather lonely and I also could use someone to vent to about the work I am doing who understands or could give me advice/sympathy. Other than that, I am making money. And considering how long it took me to get a job, I really should not complain. But I will soon begin looking for another job - hopefully in a school with other people.

I have visitors coming out here to visit soon which is exciting! And then I am going to Puerto Rico for my brother's wedding! The next few weeks are busy and full of fun things.

The weather has not changed here in over a month. But I think that for the next 3 days it might be raining, and while that does not beat the sun shining everyday at a lovely 70 degrees, it does mean that I will be able to finally put to use my new rain boots that I got for Christmas. They have been sitting by the door for almost 2 months waiting for raindrops!

For Valentine's day, Riley and I went camping an ended up not going where we had planned. However, it turned out to be just perfect and a wonderful time! I like camping. I have come to that conclusion. Mostly I like campfires and how everything smells like fire after.

My sister is pregnant and I cannot wait to be an Aunt. She is due in June and the time is flying by!

I really need dark purple or gold heels for my dress for my brothers wedding.
I am learning to play poker, as my brother and I host a weekly poker night.
I started making my bed every morning and it definitely helps to start my day but more importantly makes my room look cleaner.
I bought a car and 1)cannot believe how quickly miles rack up; 2) gas is expensive; 3) how did I live without one before?
I hope to make candles this weekend with my candle making kit! (rainy days project)

I want to run a 5k soon.

Job + National Cookie Day!

I had a wonderful thanksgiving surrounded by friends and luckily some family out here in San Diego. Everything is now in the Christmas spirit. Riley and I went to see the world's largest outdoor pipe organ last weekend at a park out here. It was a small christmas festival so there was lots of christmas music. It felt small town-ish in this larger than life city.

On my birthday I dropped my laptop and tessa died. She no longer works. She was on her 6th year so really it was a great life. A sad birthday for me though. I had a small breakdown.

I miss playing basketball. I'm listening to a college basketball practice. Not watching it, just listening to the coach yell and the squeaky sneakers on the floor. I love that sound.

On a happier note, I finally found a job! And it is just about exactly what I wanted to do. I have a Behavior Therapist position working with children with Autism. I couldn't be more excited. And they are still letting me come home for 2 weeks in December!

somebody called for cake

It is the eve of my birthday and San Diego is cold tonight. It actually has been cold here for the past few days. It rained all weekend and the sun could not warm anything up. While it was nice to see a change in weather, rain was not the change I was looking for. I literally sat by Riley's fireplace the entire weekend and watched several movies including Boogie Nights with Mark Wahlberg and the new Robinhood with Russell Crowe which was awesome!

Tomorrow, or today where some of you are, is my birthday and I intend to go for a nice, long run just to remind myself that I am not that old. I realized today as my brother celebrated his birthday and we chatted about our feelings on age and what big birthdays mean, that 23 is almost 25. I have 2 years to accomplish a lot, not to mention everything left on my '101 things' list.
I am 23 on the 23rd and I will run for potentially 2.3 miles just to be cutesy. Then I am going to have a big piece of cake...

i am in one of those moods when you are happy for no goddamn reason at all. have you ever felt like that? i don't know why i feel like this. and i don't care to think about why.

Election Day

Today is not an overly busy day for me. I actually just have small errands to get accomplished. I'm also going to start a new book. Committed by Liz Gilbert who wrote Eat, Pray, Love. It is the continuation of EPL and I hope it is as good and as helpful as EPL was for me.

In the past few days I have been working on one of the things on my list of 101 things and I think that I have finally been successful! I have in fact mastered my coffee making skills. I do not know if it is just the coffee maker that I have now in my apartment or if I will be successful again when I venture out and use other people's coffeemakers. But I am thrilled to be able to make myself an enjoyable cup of coffee or two.

My parents are coming in about a week for a visit and I absolutely cannot wait! I know they are going to love it out here. I mean who can beat this weather!?!

puff and matt were here for the past two weekends and it was so much fun with them here. i hope they really do move here. i know riley and i would love to live with them. it is a bit of home/something that feels comfortable when they are here and it is so easy to just pick up where we left off with them.

i have resorted to singing childhood songs to keep me sane...not kidding.
i applied to be a high school basketball assistant coach. i hope i get that. that would make me so giddy!

Facelift!

Since blogspot updated and got all sorts of new backgrounds and such, I couldn't help myself. I had to go with a different look. Anyway, I just made zucchini bread and it looks great! My house smells delicious, I can't really complain.















I also haven't updated you with any pictures since I've been here. Here is a few to hold you over!
Riley and I went to a Brazilian festival and saw some excellent costumes. We also ended up catching some zombies performing the thriller dance, which was the best surprise!

my sister and her husband just came to visit this past weekend, and it was a marvelous time! we did a lot of drinking; mostly dartying! by the time it got to 8pm or so we were so exhausted from the drinking earlier in the day that we fell asleep! we went to coronado, which is a little island that you can get to from san diego over this bridge. it is probably now my favorite view in sd. i want to go there and sit in this park and read a book everyday! we had a no complaining rule over the weekend which was definitely a worthwhile game to play if people are being debbie downers. however, now i'm trying to play by myself and not nearly as much fun!

back to the real world for now. which means searching for a job! wow, i've almost been here a month. i keep telling myself a job will happen, but will it?

i just watched something that reminds me of how much i made the right decision. it reminds me of who i am and why i am this way. so happy.

Hello from San Diego!

So i made it to San Diego almost 2 weeks ago! Tim just got here on Tuesday. We have an apartment although no electricity which is always fun at night time. Candles are a lifesaver. I have been scrubbing and cleaning my apartment inch by inch. It was slightly dirty. I will post some pictures of it once I get it a little more set up and we get some furniture!

I am searching for a job. Bahhhh, not fun! I wish I could skip this part....the search that is and just get one that is perfect!

Anyways, I am having a good time and loving the weather. You can't really beat it at all here, although night time is a bit chilly. I could use a few more cardigans that's for sure!

...is difficult. and it doesn't help that the upstairs in my house is hot as blazes. i wish there was a tube that could funnel the air conditioning from downstairs, up here.
i have started packing. very systematically. although rather slowly. i'm so anxious to finally go that i wish i didn't have to pack. however, i should probably bring something.

wooops! forgot to update all summer long. it has been a busy summer. camp just ended this past Saturday and i have been home ever since trying to get things together. I am moving to San Diego in 9 days! can you believe it? i must begin packing!

anyway, i watched It's Complicated last night with priya and it was such a silly movie. i hope my life is exciting when i'm old and without a divorce. we have been trying to go to yoga at 7am but that hasn't really been working out for us!

i'm only in philly for a week and a few days and then i move a lot of stuff home and it is just hitting me. i'm getting sad to leave philly and priya!
